Starbucks Korea hosted a Homecoming Day event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Starbucks Youth Leadership Program.

The positive energy I have gained from being with my fellow Starbucks Youth Leaders is my greatest strength. I am grateful for the valuable connections we share through this program.”

Starbucks Korea hosted a Homecoming Day event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Starbucks Youth Leadership Program. The Starbucks Youth Leadership Program is a leading social contribution initiative by Starbucks Korea, established in partnership with Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea in 2014. The program helps young individuals explore their dreams and develop leadership skills.

Starbucks Korea provides each student with an annual scholarship of KRW 6 million (approximately USD $ 4,100) until graduation. In addition, the program offers various opportunities including youth leadership camps, mentoring sessions, and community service activities. Exceptional participants also receive opportunities for internships at Starbucks Support Center in Korea and global Starbucks visits to further their growth.
Watching our seniors inspired my dreams, and talking with juniors helped me stay true to my aspirations. Though we may be apart, we will continue to support each other under the Starbucks Youth Leaders Program and share our important moments together.”
— Jin-seok, Member of the 2nd cohort of the Starbucks Youth Leadership Program

Over the past 10 years, a total of 101 young people have been selected across 10 cohorts. This year, 10 graduates joined the program’s alumni network, bringing the total number of graduates to 50.

The event also featured a forum with alumni, where current and former Starbucks Youth Leaders engaged in discussions, as well as group activities reflecting on the program’s decade-long history. These activities further strengthened participants’ sense of belonging and networking opportunities.
“Being part of the Starbucks Youth Leadership Program has been the most special experience of my college life. I am especially grateful for the Starbucks internship, which broadened my perspective,” shared Yihyun, from the 6th cohort who is graduating this year.

Currently, Starbucks Korea operates a total of nine profit-sharing Community Stores, with proceeds from the first two locations—Daehakro and Seongsu Station—funding the Starbucks Youth Leadership Program. As of February, Starbucks has donated a cumulative total of KRW 2.3 billion (approximately USD $1.58 million) to Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea to support youth development. In March, Starbucks Korea plans to select the 11th cohort, continuing its commitment to supporting young individuals in shaping their futures.
