The Starbucks Foundation supports Typhoon Yagi relief efforts in Thailand and Vietnam
In response to Typhoon Yagi, a devastating storm that struck southern China and Southeast Asia, and its aftermath, The Starbucks Foundation has partnered with Planet Water Foundation, a non-profit organization, to provide clean water access to impacted communities. Through this support, Planet Water Foundation deployed AquaTower water filtration systems to provide clean, safe drinking water access in Yen Bai province in Vietnam, and Chiang Rai province in Thailand. These systems produce 1,000 liters of safe drinking water per hour, providing impacted community members with safe water for drinking, cooking, and other essential uses.
Starbucks has partnered with Planet Water Foundation since 2011 to provide clean water access and hygiene programs to communities around the world. Through this long-term partnership supported by The Starbucks Foundation, 70 AquaTowers have been constructed globally, including in seven markets across Asia Pacific, providing up to 126,000 people with access to clean water.
