Celebrating Global Handwashing Day: The Starbucks Foundation and Planet Water Foundation Partner to Expand Access to Clean Water and Hygiene Education
This Global Handwashing Day, Starbucks is celebrating the power of clean water, hygiene education, and partner (employee) volunteering across Asia Pacific.
Since 2011, The Starbucks Foundation and Planet Water Foundation have partnered to help expand access to clean water and hygiene education in underserved communities around the world. Through AquaTower water filtration systems and community-based programs, the partnership helps provide reliable access to safe water while promoting healthy hygiene habits that can benefit communities for years to come.
This year, Starbucks partners across Asia Pacific rolled up their sleeves to support projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Together with Planet Water Foundation and with support from The Starbucks Foundation, partners helped install handwashing stations, improve access to safe drinking water, and bring hygiene education to students and families.
These volunteer efforts reflect Starbucks ongoing commitment to creating positive impact in the communities it serves. Beyond improving access to essential resources, the projects also create meaningful opportunities for partners to connect with local communities and support their well-being.
On Global Handwashing Day, Starbucks is proud to recognize the dedication and passion of the partners who volunteered their time and energy to support these efforts. Together with Planet Water Foundation and through the support of The Starbucks Foundation, they are helping make a difference, one community at a time.
