From her own home kitchen in the Washington Heights neighborhood, she will show you how to make this smooth, delicious staple using a piece of brewing equipment you may already have – a coffee press.

“Cold brew is one of my favorite year-round beverages, I drink it all year,” she said. “I’ll show you an easy way to make it at home.”

Here’s what you’ll need: coffee press, ground Starbucks® coffee (we love a medium roast) and water. &nbsp;

Scoop 82 grams (about 1 cup or 8 coffee scoops) of coarse-ground coffee into an 8-cup coffee press. Pour 2 cups of cool water into press. Stir with a spoon or spatula to wet the coffee grounds.

3. Place plunger and brew

Cover, but don’t plunge, and place in refrigerator. Allow to steep in the refrigerator 16-20 hours.

Take finished cold brew out of the fridge and slowly plunge the coffee press. This yields about 8 cups of cold brew concentrate. Pour into another container (such as a pitcher or large jar) and store up to seven days in refrigerator. Fill a glass of ice halfway with cold brew concentrate and top with a few ounces of cold water to enjoy as is, or keep going to learn how to give your cold brew a tasty twist.

Inspired by the coffee + ice cream beverages at the Starbucks Reserve Roasteries, the cold brew float features creamy swirls of vanilla ice cream mingling with the coffee’s smooth chocolate notes.

Just because you are home doesn’t mean things can’t be fabulous. Everything is better with a little glitter. In honor of International Drag Day on July 16, Portia will show you how to make a delicious virgin coffee daiquiri in your own kitchen with just a few ingredients (and a dash of unicorn sparkles).

Both Portia and the beverage are the creation of Drew Dalton Russ, a mixologist at the <a href="https://www.starbucksreserve.com/en-us/locations/chicago">Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Chicago</a>. When he’s not working at the Roastery’s Arriviamo Cocktail Bar, he can be found on a different stage, entertaining audiences as a drag performer.

“I love performing when I can find new and interesting ways to connect with my audience,” said Drew. “I love drag because I can connect with a lot more people in that way.”

Inspired by a spiced rum coffee cocktail on the menu at the Roastery, Russ’s cold brew daiquiri is a frothy, summery beverage that highlights the citrus and maple notes of the Starbucks Cold Brew coffee.

“I like this drink because it’s nice and summery,” Drew said. “It takes just a few ingredients and the cold brew makes everything pop.”

1. Let’s get to ‘werk’

Here’s what you’ll need: lime juice, pineapple juice, simple syrup, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Starbucks-Coffee-Black-Unsweetened-Bottles/dp/B075YZ197L">Starbucks Cold Brew</a>, maple syrup, and ice.

Into the shaker, pour lime juice, simple syrup, pineapple juice and maple syrup. (Or substitute pineapple juice and maple syrup for 1-1/2 ounces dark rum). Fill to the top with ice.

Shake in a circular motion for 30 seconds. For a blended daiquiri, blend ingredients in blender for 30 seconds.

Pour shaken beverage into a cocktail glass through a strainer and garnish with a lime wheel or a shake of sprinkles. Shablam!

Starbucks at Home: Cold Brew Daiquiri

Making coffee at home with a coffee press is a delicious way to enjoy its full flavor, and its four-minute brewing time is just enough to catch up with someone special.

This Mother’s Day, while many of us are apart, families are finding creative ways to be together. Raelene Goodson, a designer on the Starbucks Stories team and former barista at the first Starbucks Reserve™ Roastery in Seattle, showed her mom, Liz Goodson, in California, how to make an expert coffee press at home via Zoom during this installment of Starbucks at Home.

“This is what we usually drink when you're here visiting me, it’s a really easy way to brew coffee and a good go-to,” Raelene said to her mom. “I love that we’re doing this, even though you’re not in Seattle, we’re still having a Mother’s Day.”

Raelene and Liz are both brewing <a href="https://www.starbucks.com/menu/product/2123124/whole-bean?parent=%2Fat-home-coffee%2Fwhole-bean%2Fmedium-roast">Siren’s Blend™,</a> Starbucks newest core coffee that <a href="https://stories.starbucks.com/stories/2019/women-in-coffee-sirens-blend/">honors the women who contribute to coffee’s journey</a>. And in keeping with their family tradition, they are adding a dollop of whipped cream on top.

“Siren’s Blend is a medium roast coffee and it’s so versatile,” Raelene said. “I drink as hot coffee at home, I’ve done it as cold brew. What’s nice about the whipped cream is that it'll add that little bit of sweetness to it but you can still taste the coffee.”

Lifting her mug to meet her daughter’s on screen, Liz reflected, “This is a unique year. And this is an excellent way to be enjoying coffee for Mother’s Day.”

Here’s what you’ll need: coffee press, ground coffee, near-boiling water, and a timer.

Use coarse-ground coffee that resembles sea salt, and measure 2 tablespoons coffee per 6 ounces of water. (Here we’re using a 34-ounce, or 8-cup coffee press.)

Fill the coffee press with hot water that’s just been boiled (200° F). Make sure to saturate all the grounds.

4. Place plunger and brew

Put the lid back on the press without pushing the plunger down and let the coffee brew for four minutes.

Gently push down the plunger until it reaches the bottom of the press and pour coffee into your favorite mugs. Top with whipped cream for a special treat.
