A refreshing rosé-inspired Julep citrus cocktail with a soft hint of mint.&nbsp;This tea-based cocktail includes Teavana® Jade Citrus Mint® tea paired with the citrus flavor of Aperol, botanical-forward gin and the lush, complex flavors of Cocchi Americano Rosa wine, lemon juice and simple syrup, and is garnished with a strawberry and mint sprig. Available at the Roasteries and Starbucks Reserve store in SoDo Seattle.

This affogato float cocktail is a stunning take on a pineapple upside-down cake. Featuring Starbucks Reserve® Espresso, Ron Zacapa Rum, Henriques &amp; Henriques Saveiro Madeira wine and pineapple syrup swirled around vanilla ice cream. The notes of raisin and caramel from the Madeira complement the tropical rum and pineapple syrup, creating a richly flavored and perfectly sweet spring cocktail. Available at all Roasteries and Reserve stores.

Brazil Isidro Pereira Estate

Nestled in the fertile, sun-bathed hills of Southeast Brazil’s Carmo de Minas micro-region, Isidro Pereira Estate has produced stunning coffee for three generations. This washed coffee, from a country commonly known for sun-dried coffees, is the latest example of how the Pereira family surprises and delights the coffee world.

Flavor profile: Dried-fig and hazelnut notes with a creamy milk chocolate finish.

Sun-dried Papua New Guinea Ulya

In the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea, rugged ridgelines tower above a landscape of otherworldly beauty. Here nearly 1,000 smallholder farmers have committed themselves to the delicate method of sun drying coffee – a rarity in Papua New Guinea. For the second year, we’re proud to offer this remarkable coffee.

Flavor profile: Sweet notes of baked cherry and milk chocolate with accents of baking spices.

Many things have changed in the last 50 years – however our adoration for Sumatran coffee isn’t one of them. Renowned for its unmistakably spicy, herbal character, this coffee stands as a bold tribute to Indonesian history. The rich, full-bodied taste of our holiday-inspired coffee blend is complemented by the earthy, nutty flavor of pistachio-infused milk. Warmed with a cozy hint of orange zest and finished with a sprinkle of salty-sweet pistachio topping, this silky latte is the sip of the season.

The Pistachio Buttered Rum features Valrhona’s rich Pistachio Paste, Disaronno Originale Amaretto, King’s Ginger Liqueur, Ron Zacapa 23 Sistema Solera Rum, and the deep baking spices and citrus notes of Starbucks Reserve Christmas Blend. Topping it all off is a layer of brûléed mini marshmallows and a dusting of chopped pistachios, creating a creamy, crunchy texture that is fresh and yet perfectly nostalgic.

Chicago – Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ: SBUX) today unveiled Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago, which opens its doors to the public on Friday, November 15. Located on North Michigan Avenue and Erie Street on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, the opening of Chicago Reserve Roastery marks Starbucks sixth global Roastery and third location in the U.S. Starbucks largest-ever immersive coffee experience – across five floors and 35,000 square feet of retail space – celebrates the company’s heritage and is a tribute to the roasting and the craft of coffee. Visitors will be able to see, hear and learn about coffee’s extraordinary journey through intentional and unparalleled design, while enjoying a menu featuring unique beverages exclusive to this location. The Chicago Roastery joins locations in Seattle, Shanghai, Milan, New York and Tokyo.

“Over the past five years, we have created the ultimate immersive experience around all-things-coffee in spectacular Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in flagship cities around the world. This week we are delighted to open our doors on the sixth global Roastery in an iconic building located on Chicago’s renowned Magnificent Mile”, said Kevin Johnson, Starbucks ceo. “These Roasteries amplify the Starbucks brand, serve as innovation hubs, and create experiences for millions of customers around the world.” &nbsp;

Starbucks has a rich history with the Windy City, dating back to 1987 when the company opened its first store outside of the Pacific Northwest and had a total of 11 retail stores and served as the foundation for the company’s national growth strategy. Nearly 32 years later, there are 796 company-operated stores in the region where Starbucks employs more than 18,100 partners (employees). The Roastery employs nearly 200 people, including roasters, baristas, commessas, bakers, and mixologists.

“The design of the Chicago Roastery was inspired by the iconic Chicago landmark, and the city itself,” said Jill Enomoto, vice president of Roastery Design &amp; Concept for Starbucks. “We embraced the building’s natural light, married it with shades of classic Starbucks greens and intentionally wove in design features to encourage customer exploration and highlight the love and respect we have for coffee.”

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago is a working coffee roastery where Starbucks Roasters will be small-batch roasting Starbucks rarest single-origin coffees and blends called Starbucks Reserve. The coffee roasted in Chicago will be served exclusively to visitors of the location, available in handcrafted beverages as well as freshly scooped whole bean coffee. 

Unique Food and Beverage Experiences

There are three main coffee bars at the Roastery, which in total offer seven brewing methods, including espresso, pour over, coffee press, siphon, Chemex®, Clover® and cold brewing.

The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago is the only Starbucks location in the U.S. to offer on-demand liquid nitrogen gelato. Designed to pair with Starbucks Reserve® coffee, nitrogen gelato is mixed by hand, with every scoop made right on the spot and offers another way for customers to enjoy specialty Starbucks Reserve coffees. Nitrogen gelato previously debuted at the Milan Roastery when it opened in September 2018.

Arriviamo™ Cocktail Bar

The Chicago Roastery will feature a dedicated Arriviamo™ Bar, like the Starbucks Reserve Roastery locations in New York and Milan. Inspired by the Italian tradition of aperitivo, the Arriviamo Bar will be a destination for customers looking for a carefully crafted cocktail. Located on the fourth floor, the Arriviamo™ bar features an assortment of traditional and unique cocktails, all concepted by local mixologists Julia Momose, Annie Beebe-Tron and Rachel Miller. In addition to a menu of classic cocktails and a selection of local Chicago beer and wine, exclusive specialty cocktails featuring Starbucks Reserve coffee and tea that nod to the culture and traditions of Chicago include:

In addition to coffee beverages, Roastery visitors can enjoy food at Princi™, the renowned artisanal boutique bakery and cafe founded by Italian baker Rocco Princi. As the exclusive food purveyor at Starbucks Reserve locations, Princi offers on-site baking of fresh breads, cornetti and focaccia, pizza and salads, plus cakes and tarts. A full menu of items will be available on the second floor Princi bakery, while select items will also be available throughout the Roastery for customers looking to pair their coffee with a savory or sweet bite. 

Exclusive to the Chicago Roastery will be a bakery conveyor that has been designed by Starbucks to transport fresh baked goods from the Princi bakery on the second floor, to the Starbucks Reserve Coffee Bar on the main level.

In a nod to the city’s vibrant history, artwork from local Chicago artists that tell stories and encourage customers to explore can be found throughout the building’s five floors. Customers can also purchase limited-edition merchandise from Chicago-based visual artist Mac Blackout to take home with them. 

Creating a Positive Impact

To further show support for the city of Chicago, Starbucks recently announced an investment of $10 million into four established Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) to drive economic opportunity in the city. The investment, dispersed among Accion Chicago, Chicago Community Loan Fund, Local Initiative Support Corporation and IFF, is expected to generate more than 500 loans toward supporting Chicago’s small businesses, community development projects, and the economic vitality of the city’s underserved neighborhoods.

Pop'nTea Sakura Jasmine

 At the Roastery’s Teavana™ tea bar, customers have the opportunity to choose from an extensive collection of loose-leaf teas as well as innovative tea beverages and tea desserts. The Pop'nTea Sakura Jasmine is perhaps the most creative, made with Jasmine Silver Needle Tea topped with a pink handmade hibiscus and cherry popsicle. Take a bite of the pop or wait until the two teas melt and merge. Enjoy the changing color, taste and aroma, and find your favorite way to drink it. 

 The Spring Shower signature cocktail will transport you to an intoxicating spring landscape with floral, fruity and smoky, woody notes in every sip. Made with Dassai shochu, Wapirits Tsumugi Buntan spirits and grapefruit liqueur, this cocktail is finished with a spray of Starbucks Reserve® Cold Brew Coffee and a beautiful floating flower. 

Golden-Sky Black Tea Latte

 The Golden-Sky Black Tea Latte features spiced tea latte made from black tea with notes of cardamom and turmeric, topped with turmeric sugar-blended golden cotton candy. Pick up a pair of chopsticks to taste the turmeric cotton candy and then let it melt into the tea latte to sip together. The setting sun was the inspiration for the cotton candy melting into the tea latte. Enjoy its unique appearance and how it changes over time. 

Paying homage to the sharing culture of Japan Starbucks Reserve coffee is filter brewed and poured over a Japanese whiskey cocktail. The cocktail is meant to be shared and is served in a tokkuri, a traditional Japanese sake decanter, with a pair of ochoko glass. This product contains alcohol.

Teavana Cream Soda Matcha

 This beverage is inspired by the cream soda available at traditional “kissaten” coffee houses in Japan, which is part of the Japanese culture. Baristas brew matcha from Uji, Kyoto, to order, then mix with sparkling water and Starbucks Japan original vanilla ice cream topped with a bright red cherry. The mellow sweetness comes from the blend of sweet vanilla and matcha. It’s a new but somehow nostalgic tea experience. 

 Made with Starbucks Reserve cold brew, this twist on a lemon sour is shaken with maple syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice and garnished with cascara sugar, a lemon peel, and a maraschino cherry for a touch of sweetness. 

Nakameguro Espresso Martini

A dessert-like cocktail that pairs espresso and ganache. Japanese Nikka Vodka, chestnut liqueur and freshly-brewed espresso are shaken with cocoa liqueur, then topped with shaved chocolate and served with a Peruvian single-origin ganache. This product contains alcohol.

Iced Macchiato Con Crema

 This beautifully layered iced espresso beverage features a rich and creamy cold foam topped with a strike of Demerara sugar. Stir to blend the layers of coffee and milk and enjoy the everchanging flavors. 

 A spirits-free cocktail at the Arriviamo Bar represents the beautiful season when cherry blossoms begin to bloom. This beverage is made with Starbucks Reserve® Cold Brew, tonic and refreshing Italian chinotto soda, and garnished with slices of grapefruit cut in the shape of cherry blossom petals. &nbsp;The gorgeous citrus flavor complements the coffee and is elevated by the refreshing Italian chinotto citrus soda. You can enjoy the perfectly balanced complex sweetness, acidity, bitterness and aroma.
