You voted, we gave: The Starbucks Foundation donates $1 million to help strengthen communities

This holiday season, The Starbucks Foundation donated a total of $1 million to three outstanding nonprofits by asking customers and partners (employees) to vote for the causes closest to their hearts. It’s just one part of the year-round giving by The Starbucks Foundation, and Starbucks, to empower youth, support frontline responders, alleviate hunger and so much more.

The results of the votes are in:

$500,000 will go to World Central Kitchen

World Central Kitchen uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond.

$300,000 will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

$200,000 will go to Direct Relief

Direct Relief equips health professionals in resource-poor communities to meet the challenges of diagnosing, treating and caring for people in need.
