Cabbies, geeks and poets: Starbucks NYC Roastery partners ready to wow
NEW YORK – Starbucks opens its fourth Reserve Roastery on Friday in New York City, an immersive experience designed to celebrate every step of the coffee journey, from bean to cup.
Starbucks partners, the people who will bring these coffee stories to life, bring their own journeys with them to work as well. For months, they’ve arrived by subway, sidewalk and bus to the new Roastery in the city’s meatpacking district to train in the craft of coffee and prepare for the day the window coverings are removed and the sleek, new space is full of customers.
The Roastery, located at 61 9th Avenue, joins locations in Seattle, Shanghai and Milan with future openings coming to Tokyo and Chicago in 2019.
The New York City Roastery employs nearly 300 roasters, baristas, commessas and mixologists. Here’s how a few of them are feeling about opening day.
