Starbucks Fuels Excitement for the Seahawks

Customers in Seattle Starbucks stores (January 6) were greeted by Blitz, the Seattle Seahawks mascot, who was scooting along the streets from one Starbucks to the next, handing out hundreds of $5-$15 Seahawks Starbucks Cards. Blitz also exchanged fist bumps with baristas dressed in team colors for Blue Friday, an Emerald City tradition in which fans don Seahawks jerseys to show support for the hometown team.

Blitz’s Starbucks journey included a special stop at the busy Westlake Starbucks store to deliver two tickets for this weekend’s Detroit Lions at Seattle NFL Wild Card game to a surprised store manager, Josh Liverman. A five-year Starbucks partner (employee), Liverman was given the tickets in recognition of exceptional leadership throughout the holiday season. He plans to attend his first Seahawks game with his wife.

“This city supports their football team more than any city I’ve ever been to,” he said. “The passion for the Seahawks is incredible. I mean, there are signs hanging from buildings everywhere. It’s amazing.”
