5 Tips from Evolution Fresh for a Healthy New Year

We all make them and we all break them. Now that the New Year is underway, many of us are focused on wellness resolutions. Evolution Fresh partnered with registered dietitian nutritionist Bonnie Taub-Dix to offer five healthy tips to add to any daily routine that are easy to maintain throughout the year.

“In my experience as a registered dietitian nutritionist, I’ve yet to work with anyone who enjoys being told what not to do. Restrictive resolutions might lead to immediate results, but those are often unsustainable,” said Taub-Dix. “Instead, I try to guide clients toward thinking positively and enjoying new routines that they can add to their lives. Small, mindful choices practiced daily can lead to big results. Setting a goal to appreciate a variety of healthy habits while also appreciating the way you look and feel is one that will last year through.”

Simple Wellness Tips:

1. Pack kale to go

Experts recommend eating approximately five to nine servings of fruits and/or vegetables each day, but even with the best intentions, it can be hard to reach this goal. Since carrying a kale bunch isn’t realistic, grab a green juice for an easy, on-the-go way to get more than a serving of fruits and vegetables in a bottle. Evolution Fresh offers seven cold-pressed, high pressure processed green juices that feature a simple ingredient list with a green vegetable listed first – a sign of a truly green, green juice.

2. Take a break

Whether walking to grab lunch or taking a brisk lap around the office, use “me” time to get moving. If exercise is not a regular part of each day, start small to form a sustainable, enjoyable habit.

3. Invest in this must-have bedroom accessory

A journal provides a place to write down any nagging thoughts that may lead to staying up at night. Studies show that a lack of sleep can cause overeating, low motivation and an array of ailments.

4. Focus on #WaterGoals

Work hard to meet the recommended eight cups of water each day. All-day hydration can be fun and flavorful with a reusable water bottle and flavor enhancers to mix it up, like tea sachets or fresh fruits and veggies.

5. Use technology as a way to make a personal connection

Make time to connect with friends in person. It’s easy to lose sight of the benefits that quality face time can have on well-being. Once a friend date is scheduled, step away from the screens and be present during this time together.
