Starbucks Celebrates Singles’ Day in China
Singles' Day in China has become one of the world's biggest shopping days, and today (November 11) Starbucks is marking the occasion with exclusive merchandise and a special beverage in China.
It's believed the Singles' Day tradition originated in China in the early 1990s when a group of Nanjing University students organized activities for those tired of the loneliness and boredom of single life. The holiday has evolved significantly since that time and is now a special occasion for all people to enjoy. Observed each year on November 11, consumers are offered deals through sites including Alibaba’s Tmall and Taobao on Singles' Day.
Exclusive Merchandise
“To give our customers more options to share their gestures of love, or as a reward for themselves after a year of hard work, we have designed and curated a series of special Starbucks merchandise. The items are available exclusively on the Starbucks Tmall e-Flagship store,” said Molly Liu, vice president, Digital Venture, Starbucks China.
Starbucks Coffee Brewing Gift Sets: Two Starbucks Coffee Brewing Gift Sets curated specially for the home and on-the-go Starbucks customer.
11.11 Starbucks Cards: Four exclusively-designed limited-time Starbucks gift cards packaged with a special 11.11-themed card carrier.

Singles' Day Beverage
Starbucks locations across China will mark Singles' Day with the Cocoa Java Mocha beverage, offered exclusively on November 11. Premiering for the first time in the country, this beverage features a rich and refreshing blend of dark mocha, sweet caramel and warm hazelnut, punctuated with chocolatey mini-cubes. It can be served either hot or as a Frappuccino® blended beverage.
