Orange Mocha Recipe

Orange zest brightens this rich, chocolaty espresso drink.

Learn how to transform your traditional mocha with a little bit of orange zest. Chocolate and orange are two of the most harmonious flavors. Here’s how to combine them with espresso and milk for a mocha that’ll warm the soul.

Orange Mocha

Serves 1-2

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk or milk of choice
  • 2 tablespoons mocha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • zest from half an orange + zest for topping
  • 4 oz hot espresso
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Directions

Over medium heat, add milk to your saucepan. Mix in the mocha sauce, brown sugar, and orange zest. Once it begins to simmer, whisk briskly until there’s a thin layer of foam.

To prepare whipped cream, add heavy whipping cream and sugar into bowl and whisk or use hand mixer until stiff peaks form.

Pour hot espresso into a large mug, then add the milk mixture. (Be careful not to pour in the orange zest—use a strainer if needed.) Top it off with a dollop of whipped cream and some fresh orange zest. Sit back and enjoy.
