Time-Lapse VIDEO: Starbucks Stores Turn Red for the Holidays

One morning each November, Starbucks customers walk through the door of their neighborhood store to find it transformed for the holidays. But what goes on behind the scenes?

At Starbucks University Village store, the company’s second location, customers have been coming to get into the holiday spirit for more than 40 years. Charles Griffiths, who has managed Starbucks University Village store for five years, says it takes five store partners working a total of 40 combined hours to set up their holiday display.

“The holiday set is by far our largest of the year,” said Griffiths. “We touch every part of store, the walls of merchandise, the food cases, and the displays. Then of course there’s the coffee – thousands of pounds of coffee.”

Watch as Starbucks store partners (employees) get ready to surprise their customers with this year’s Christmas Blend and holiday set.
