Coffee on the Grill? It’s Possible with this Recipe
Coffee & Spice Dry Rub
This recipe for homemade dry rub combines what might be two of dad's favorite things – coffee and grilling.
“I love coffee as an ingredient. I think it goes nicely with both sweet and savory,” Thiele said. “The coffee complements both the sweetness from the brown sugar and the spice from the smoked paprika and cumin.”
Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1-1/2 packets of Starbucks VIA® Instant
Directions
Mix everything together. Store in an airtight container up to six months. When ready to use, rub the mix completely over pieces of chicken, beef or pork before grilling.
