MEDIA ALERT: Make a Difference on World AIDS Day With Your Purchase at Starbucks


WHAT: For the fifth year, Starbucks is partnering with (RED) ™ to raise awareness on World AIDS Day.

In honor of World AIDS Day (Saturday, December 1), Starbucks will make a five cent donation for every handcrafted beverage sold in participating U.S. and Canada company-operated and licensed stores. Starbucks donation will go to the Global Fund where 100 percent of the money is put to work in HIV/AIDS grants in Africa. On World AIDS Day, customers can enjoy Starbucks® traditional hand-crafted beverages and Starbucks® seasonal beverages including:

  • Peppermint Mocha – A seasonal favorite featuring a combination of espresso with bittersweet chocolate, peppermint flavored syrup and steamed milk, topped by whipped cream and chocolate curls.

  • Skinny Peppermint Mocha – Fans of Starbucks® classic seasonal beverage, the Peppermint Mocha, can enjoy their favorite holiday treat made lighter, with sugar-free peppermint syrup and sugar-free mocha sauce.   • Caramel Brulée Latte – A holiday delight, this beverage features a combination of rich caramel sauces, espresso and steamed milk and is topped with whipped cream and shimmery caramel pieces.
