There are roughly 37 million people worldwide living with HIV – more than 25 million of whom are living in sub-Saharan Africa, an impact felt around the world.1 However, progress is being made. Today, 20.9 million people are accessing life-saving antiretroviral therapy, up from 19.5 million at the end of 2016. There is still much work to be done to maintain this progress. That’s why Starbucks is a proud partner of (RED), raising money and awareness for the fight to end HIV and AIDS.
To honor World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, Starbucks will contribute 25 cents (USD) for every Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte or Eggnog Latte purchased in participating U.S. and Canada stores to the Global Fund to help (RED) fight AIDS. Featured holiday beverages can be ordered hot, iced or as a Frappuccino® blended beverage as applicable.
This is the 10th year Starbucks has partnered with (RED) on World AIDS Day. Over the years, the company has contributed more than $14 million to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS with (RED).
The (RED) Playlist
Starbucks is also marking World AIDS Day with a hand-selected playlist featuring new music from U2 and the many artists and bands who have shown support for (RED) over the years. Beginning Dec. 1, the playlist will be featured in Starbucks profile on Spotify as well as played in Starbucks stores in the U.S.
