Ron Crawford is senior vice president, Global Total Rewards and Partner Resources Service Delivery. In this role, Ron leads the strategy, growth and direction of Starbucks Benefits, Compensation and Service Delivery teams, ensuring that Starbucks is providing best-in-class programs and solutions that will enhance the experience, health, and well-being of all Starbucks partners (employees).
Ron first joined the Starbucks partner resources organization in 2011 as vice president, Global Benefits. In this role, Ron has helped lead the transformation of the company’s comprehensive benefits, strengthening Starbucks reputation as the industry leader and cultivating a reputation as one of the most creative people in the industry. Ron pioneered some of the company’s most popular and innovative benefits such as the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, Lyra mental health benefit, and Headspace and Spotify partnerships. He also led the groundbreaking expansion of benefits for transgender partners.
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Ron received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Pomona College in Claremont, California before moving to Seattle in 1988 to start his career as an actuary in the insurance industry. His experience sparked an interest and passion for the world of what was possible for employee benefits, which ultimately led him to Starbucks. Ron enjoys cooking, skateboarding, collecting vinyl records, and is currently learning how to play the guitar. Ron and his wife live in Seattle with their two children and beloved dog, Izzy. His favorite Starbucks coffee and all-around go-to beverage is a cup of brewed Sumatra.
