Lyne Castonguay

Lyne Castonguay is Starbucks executive vice president, global chief merchant & product officer. She was appointed to the role in April 2024 to lead the newly created global function focused on product strategy, innovation and growth platforms, including new formats. She also leads Starbucks Global Channel Development; Siren Retail; Data, Analytics and Consumer Insights teams.

Lyne is a global growth and transformation leader with experience in retail, manufacturing, and services. Prior to Starbucks, Lyne served as the U.S. President and Chief Operating Officer of Saputo Inc., one of the world’s largest dairy processors. Lyne also held executive leadership roles at Empire Company Limited for the Canadian grocery chain Sobeys, where she designed and laid the foundation for the company's national merchandising, private label and marketing structures. She was the architect of Sobeys' success in stabilizing margins and sales and played a key role in e-commerce and customer loyalty program.

Before joining Sobeys in 2016, Lyne spent 14 years in progressively senior roles at The Home Depot both in Canada and in the United States, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Home Services and as Merchandising Vice President for several large growth departments.

A native of Edmundston in New Brunswick, Canada, Lyne earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Edmundston’s Université de Moncton and later completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. She is also the recipient of the Star Women award from Canadian Grocer and serves on the board of directors of Canadian Tire Corporation. Lyne and her husband, Ray, have two children and are avid boaters and sports fans. Her favorite Starbucks beverage is a hot grande nonfat Caramel Macchiato.
