UK.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reina is enrolled in Starbucks Accelerated Leadership Programme, a 13-month course that culminates in becoming a store manager from entry level \u2013 a journey that usually takes at least three years. No previous hospitality or work experience is required \u2013 just ambition and passion to grow.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For everyone chosen, we\u2019re investing \u00a35,000 (per person) into your professional development \u2013 giving you the tools and support you need to succeed in your career, wherever it takes you.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the end of the 13 months, you will graduate with a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification \u2013 which is the equivalent to an A-level. The ALP opens doors to more than just Starbucks stores. Whether you\u2019re just leaving school or exploring a fresh start, Starbucks is a place where you can be yourself, work with great people, craft your path and spread joy every day through the power of coffee.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reina had already been working with Starbucks before starting the Accelerated Leadership Programme, having moved to the UK from Tenerife. We caught up with her before her shift to find out how she\u2019s finding the course, which she started in May this year.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reina told us she finds the programme\u2019s flexibility especially helpful, as she is able to fit the sessions around her busy schedule. \u201cSo far, I\u2019m really enjoying it,\u201d she says, \u201cit\u2019s compressed into bite-sized online sessions which makes it a lot more manageable, so I can fit it around my shifts in the store.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as honing your customer service skills, the programme also focuses on building strong interpersonal skills \u2013 such as time management, decision making and leadership. \u201cEnglish is my second language, so I was worried about keeping up,\u201d Reina admits, \u201cbut the sessions are super easy to understand. I always feel like I\u2019ve learned something new.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the programme \u2013 which is delivered by our training partner Corndel \u2013 you\u2019ll get hands-on experience in our stores and learn what it really takes to become a confident, well-rounded hospitality manager. At the same time, you\u2019ll be working towards gaining a professional accreditation from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the 13 months, you will:<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gain essential hands-on, in-store experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build leadership and team management skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen your commercial and strategic understanding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop your decision-making<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve time management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn how to deliver standout customer experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand how to resolve conflict and deescalate\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Network with other partners across the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the course, you\u2019ll receive one-on-one mentoring, with frequent check-ins with a tutor to provide additional support whenever you need it. \u201cMy favourite lesson so far has been learning about happiness at work,\u201d Reina said, \u201cthings like managing your time or finding strategies to improve your wellbeing. I didn\u2019t realise that would be something we\u2019d be taught as store managers, but it is important \u2013 for ourselves and our team.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t know what the future holds for me or whether I\u2019ll stay here in the UK, but now I\u2019ll have the skills to succeed no matter where life takes me,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n<\/body>\n\n<body><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Applications are open from 7<sup>th<\/sup> July until 21<sup>st<\/sup> July.
