Working in partnership with a number of NGO partners, Starbucks industry-leading refugee hiring programme has placed refugees into permanent roles across Europe in 2017. Recognising the challenges faced by refugees in building a new life, the refugee hiring programme provides a unique insight into Starbucks and the skills and qualities needed before stepping behind the bar.
On this World Refugee Day, we take a trip to the UK and see how Starbucks partner Chiara is empowering refugees and promoting inclusivity, alongside the experience of Asma, a five-year partner who joined Starbucks through the hiring programme.
