Starbucks certifies first Greener Stores in the UK
A Starbucks store is certified as a "Greener Store" when it successfully meets 25 required standards, as verified by an outside auditor, across eight environmental impacts areas such as energy efficiency, water stewardship and waste diversion. The standards were developed in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund and SCS Global Services.
Starbucks has certified its first five Greener Stores in the UK and they are located at Battersea Power Station, Birmingham Selly Oak, Dartford Prospect Place, Beckton Gallions Reach, and Cardiff Capital Shopping Park.
Starbucks is committed to certifying 100 Greener Stores in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by the end of 2023. These Greener Stores will help reduce Starbucks environmental impact through a performance-based standard that incorporates design and extend throughout the life of a store.
As of April 2023, Starbucks has certified more than 3,500 Greener Stores globally bringing the company closer to its goal of designing, building, and operating 10,000 Greener Stores globally by 2025.
