Introducing the new Starbucks Rewards: Free Drinks, Fast

With Starbucks Rewards, members can get more Stars for what they buy, no matter how often they visit – meaning free drinks fast.

Starbucks is further enhancing the customer experience with the introduction of a new Starbucks Rewards programme.

The launch is part of wider digital transformation underway to meet evolving customer needs that have only been accelerated by COVID-19, as customers look for increasingly personalised, convenient and safe retail experiences.

Starbucks Rewards has always been and will always be about appreciating and rewarding our most loyal customers and this evolution of the programme will give members more Stars for what they buy, no matter how often they visit.

Benefits of the new programme for members include:

• Stars add up fast as customers are rewarded based on the products they buy with three Stars for every £1/€1 spent, meaning that members can get free drinks more frequently
• Gold members benefiting from free extra espresso shots, syrups, whipped cream or dairy alternatives
• Members of all levels will continue to enjoy new drinks before everyone else, including Holiday favourites
• Continued convenience of ordering ahead before you’ve even entered the store, customizing your drink on the app and saving previous transactions for next time
• Birthday Free Drink for Gold Members to celebrate your special day

In British stores where Mobile Order and Pay is available, Starbucks Rewards members will also benefit from the continued convenience of placing their order on their way to a store, so it is ready for them to collect on arrival.

When the programme goes live, current members of Starbucks Rewards will see their Stars automatically converted to reflect the changes. Members will not lose any of their existing benefits and any free drink coupons they have already collected will be automatically migrated to the new programme.

All members will get three Stars for every £1/€1 spent. Collect 150 Stars, and you’ll be able to redeem them for a free drink of your choice (or hold on to them, collect 300 Stars, and redeem two free drinks at once!).

Collect 450 Stars in the space of a year – gross of any Stars redeemed for free drinks in store – and we will elevate your account to Gold member status (or maintain it if you’re already Gold).
