Starbucks marks the count-down to Christmas with brand new festive cups and drinks


Today, 1st November 2018, Starbucks welcomes the festive season with the launch of its highly anticipated Christmas cups and seasonal drinks – marking the count-down until Christmas for many.

Since 1997, Starbucks has designed Christmas cups to reflect the joy of the season, with their return becoming a festive tradition and a symbol of the season. This year, for the first time since 1999, Starbucks has unveiled two cup designs – perfect for wrapping cold hands around and creating those eye-catching quintessential Instagram posts.

Inspired by the nostalgic, joyful taste of the season and Starbucks coffee heritage, the new green ‘Stargyle’ cup features stars twinkling against a back-drop of interlinking diamonds in varying shades of Starbucks green. The new iconic red cup ‘Stripes’ features graphic bands of bright poppy red and a darker cranberry, accented with white pale rose gold. A ribbon of black, white and Starbucks green on the back ties both cup designs together. For those who opt for reuse, Starbucks has also given its classic £1 reusable cup a merry make-over with a new red festive design.

It’s not just what’s on the outside that will make people smile.  Starbucks has also launched its Christmas drinks line-up, with a range of new as well as returning favourites. Brand new drinks this year include a delicious Christmas Brulee Latte, Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate, and a Flat White with Cinnamon Spice. Returning to the festive line up is the classic Gingerbread Latte and Toffee Nut Latte.

Starbucks drinks are served as standard with semi-skimmed milk*. There are thousands of ways to customise Starbucks drinks, including asking for less or no whipped cream, without drizzle or toppings, or choosing one of three sugar-free syrups: vanilla, hazelnut or caramel – which all helps to reduce sugar and calories.

Christmas Brulee Latte

A seasonal take on the traditional Crème Brulee – Creamy eggnog milk is steamed with a rich Crème Brulee Sauce and mixed with fresh espresso, then finished with a Christmas Brulee. Soft spices compliment the coffee and the luxurious, Crème Brulee Sauce. The Latte is topped with a sprinkle of Crème Brulee Twinkle.

Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate

Steamed milk and mocha sauce combined with salted caramel sauce, then topped with a salted caramel brownie whipped cream and finished with a blend of brownie crumbles and salted caramel brittle. The perfect balance between sweet and salty.

Flat White with Cinnamon Spice

A subtle hint of cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon spice is mixed with our espresso to give your Flat White a sophisticated twist (can be offered as a Latte as well). Cinnamon spice sugar is steamed into milk and poured over espresso, bringing a festive spark to your morning coffee.

Gingerbread Latte

For the ultimate drink to get you into the festive spirit, the Gingerbread Latte has everything you need. Topped with a gingerbread whipped cream and crunchy wafer, the sweet and delicately spicy gingerbread flavours mingle with espresso and steamed milk. A finishing touch of ground nutmeg and is sure to hit that spirited spot every time.

Toffee Nut Latte

One of the most celebrated festive favourites, the Toffee Nut Latte is perfect for customers who prefer caramel flavours or nutty treats. Its rich, buttery flavour of sweet toffee is combined with the warmth of toasted nuts and blended with espresso and velvety steamed milk. Generously finished with whipped cream and our classic Toffee Nut Sprinkles.

Eggnog Latte

The return of the Eggnog Latte is celebrated by fans all over the world. Made by combining Starbucks 100% Arabica espresso with creamy, steamed eggnog and served with a dusting of ground nutmeg, it gets everyone feeling Christmassy, and contains 11% less total sugar since 2015. (Available in the UK only)
