Starbucks fans get engaged at the store where they first met

For this couple, Valentine’s Day in 2018 is one they will never forget.

Adam, a lifelong Starbucks fan, always enjoyed drinking a cup of Starbucks coffee in his home city of New York before moving to Vienna to live with his girlfriend, Alina. Starbucks also had a special part to play at the beginning of their relationship.

The two shared their first date at the Starbucks store on Neubaugasse in Vienna three years ago. When Adam felt it was time to ask his girlfriend the all-important question, he decided to do it back where their love story began.

With careful planning, and support from the store team at the Neubaugasse store, Adam was ready for his surprise proposal.

The big event started with a string quartet playing inside the store - surprising Alina, who had been invited in for a coffee by a friend. Two dancers appeared and ushered Alina, still unaware, out into the open square where family and friends had formed a flash mob.

Alina was left speechless by the display before the crowds then parted to reveal Adam, down on one knee with an engagement ring in his hands, who was finally able to ask the question.

“Alina, you are the love of my life. Will you marry me?”
