Starbucks joins Londoners in Celebrating the LGBT Community during Pride

Starbucks is supporting Pride in London for the third year running as a gold sponsor, championing the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT+) community. Starbucks stores along the Pride in London parade route have been wrapped in colourful Pride designs and are retailing exclusive Pride pin badges with all proceeds going to Pride in London to support LGBT charities across the UK.
Over 240 Starbucks partners (employees), friends and family will be joining the parade on Saturday 8th July, with social members of the LGBT community including, Doug Armstrong, Dan & Jon and Tia Ward.
Starbucks partners joining the Parade will be marching under Starbucks #LoveHappensHere balloon – a positive symbol of acceptance, support and friendship and rejecting hate. They will be wearing colourful Pride T-shirts and have a selection of novelty items as they march to mark the occasion.
Starbucks stores along the Parade route will be topping their Frappuccino drinks with rainbow coloured heart sprinkles for two days while Pride takes place in London on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July. Everyone marching the parade can also visit ‘Glam Stops’ installed in five Starbucks stores along the route to get glammed and glittered up by The Gyspy Shrine team for free, on Saturday 8th July, between 11am-3pm.

At Starbucks, we embrace diversity and offer the platform for our partners to shine and be proud of who they are.”
Starbucks barista Alvaro Dominguez who features in the Pride in London video said, “When you’re working surrounded by Starbucks partners loving you and supporting you, your life changes because there is no more fear about being judged. Everyone at Starbucks accepts each other for who they are.”
In 2007, Starbucks founded the Starbucks Pride Alliance to support and advocate for our LGBT partners. Today, its community is made up of thousands of partners around the world. Starbucks is also actively involved in Pride festivals around the world.
The Pride parade starts at 1pm, and takes a 1.4-mile (2.3km) route from just north of Oxford Circus on Regent Street, down Regent Street and through Piccadilly Circus. It then heads down Pall Mall towards Trafalgar Square, and finishes in Whitehall at around 4:30pm.
