Starbucks Welcomes “Year of the Rat” Around the World
Lunar Near Year, also known as Chinese New Year, is one of the world’s most significant cultural celebrations. Each year is characterized by one of 12 animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac with 2020 being the Year of the Rat.
To commemorate Lunar New Year, Starbucks stores in Asia and the U.S. are celebrating with customers with the introduction of a range of drinkware, Starbucks Cards, beverages and more, available while supplies last.
For more than 20 years, Starbucks has celebrated the Lunar New Year holiday with customers across Asia. To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Rat, the company is introducing new merchandise to commemorate the occasion, available at participating stores while supplies last.
Golden Pineapple Latte: The classic latte is blended with a high-quality pineapple sauce, and the Golden Diamond pineapple is sweet and delicate. The roasted white sesame, caramel cocoa flavor of the coffee blends with the tropical aroma of pineapple and sesame fragrance. Covered with a brilliant dollop of whipped cream, a symbol of the bright good Chinese New Year fortune.
Fortune Chestnut Macchiato: The silky steamed milk is flavored with sweet roasted chestnuts, nutty and creamy, covered with milk foam, poured into a classic espresso to create a wonderful "mark", and topped with a sweet sauce made from French chestnut puree.
Love Blossoms Matcha Latte: High quality green tea powder, blended with smooth milk and classic peach blossom flavor syrup. The beverage is then topped with pink peach blossom flavor whipped cream and sprinkled with peach blossom flavor fragments.
Building on the popularity of Global Lunar New Year collections, Starbucks is offering a Lunar New Year collection in the United States for the first time. The collection, which includes a colorful mug, tumbler and cold cup, is available exclusively at participating Target Starbucks locations, while supplies last.
