Starbucks Supports Disaster Relief Efforts in Indonesia, Invites Customers to Donate via Mobile App
As part of our support to communities affected by the recent earthquakes and tsunami in Indonesia, The Starbucks Foundation will donate $150,000 to relief and recovery efforts. Of that amount, $50,000 will support emergency operations and relief led by the Indonesian Red Cross in both Lombok and Sulawesi. The remaining $100,000 will support CARE in providing lifesaving relief and longer-term recovery for survivors in Sulawesi, including emergency shelter and water and hygiene interventions, with a focus on supporting women and girls.
Beginning Friday, October 5, customers who wish to aid in the disaster relief efforts in Indonesia can donate to CARE’s Indonesia Earthquake Humanitarian Response Fund online and through an app card on the Starbucks mobile app.
Starbucks partners (employees) who make a personal contribution to the relief efforts can request matching funds through the company's Partner Match program.
