Update: The transition to Tahua Capital Limited completed on Oct. 23, 2018.

Starbucks opened its first store in Parnell, Auckland, in 1998, as part of a licensing agreement with Restaurant Brands Limited and, for the past 20 years, Restaurant Brands Limited has played an important role in introducing Starbucks Coffee and the Starbucks Experience to customers in the market. Based on our ongoing conversations with Restaurant Brands, Starbucks made the decision to explore new opportunities and enter into a licensing agreement with Tahua Capital Limited, a New Zealand-owned company committed to growing the Starbucks brand in the market.

Tahua Capital Limited plans to make investments in elevating Starbucks Coffee in New Zealand over the short and long-term while providing exceptional world-class service, quality coffee and handcrafted beverages that our customers in New Zealand expect from Starbucks.
